Ginger Alden Biography
Ginger Alden (born November 13, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American actress/model who is best known as being the former fiancée of Elvis Presley.
Ginger first met Presley in 1961 through her father, who had been Presley's induction officer when he joined the United States military in 1958. When she was 20 years old, both she and her older sister Terry, then the most recent Miss Tennessee beauty pageant winner, were introduced to Presley once again. Presley had dated others and just ended his four-and-a-half year relationship with Linda Thompson when he allegedly asked Ginger to marry him. Presley introduced Alden and her family often during their courtship and during his last televised performance in 1977, Presley introduced Alden to a national audience as his girlfriend, although he was not planning to announce any engagement to her.
Alden was asleep at his Graceland estate in the early afternoon of August 16, 1977 when she woke to find his lifeless body in the bathroom. At age 42, Elvis Presley had died.
After Presley's death, Ginger went on to pursue a career in modeling, eventually working in commercials, making guest appearances on television shows, and signing on to be a regular cast member of the 1986–87 season of the daytime soap opera, Capitol alongside Teri Hatcher.
