Janet Jackson Split From Jermaine Dupri
Janet Jackson has confirmed her break-up with her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, aka Jermaine Dupri Maulidin - producer, rapper and Grammy-winning songwriter.
The 43-year-old pop star Janet Jackson admits she's not the type of girl that stays in touch with her ex-boyfriends, but Jermaine is one of her best friends and will remain that way for the rest of her life.
Speaking on Atlanta's 'Bert Show', Janet Jackson said: "I'm not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that. But Jermaine is one of my best friends. I love him to death. We're still connected. We're still good friends. We still talk. We're there for one another. I think it will remain that way for the rest of my life".
The couple was reported to have ended their relationship in the summer.
Another source said: "They have been moving in different directions for a while. You shouldn't mix business with pleasure. Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate. Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet's more shy"
J.D. produced several tracks on Janet's last two albums '20 Y.O.' and 'Discipline'. Janet Jackson and Jermaine dated for about seven years, since 2002. Janet has been married twice before - James DeBarge (1984-1985), and director Rene Elizondo (1991-2000).
