Tiger Woods, born Eldrick Woods on December 30, 1975, in Cypress, California, is the only son of Earl and Kultida Woods. Wood began his career at early age. When Tiger was three he shot a 48 over nine holes at the Navy Golf Club in Cypress, California, and when he was five, Woods appeared in Golf Digest and on ABC's That’s Incredible. In 1991, Woods protected his title at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, becoming the first multiple winner, competed in his first PGA Tour event, at the Nissan Los Angeles Open, and Tiger was named Golf Digest Amateur Player of the Year, Golf World Player of the Year, and Golfweek National Amateur of the Year in 1992. In August of 1996, Tiger Woods decided to quit college in order to play professional golf. Master Tournament is the most coveted honor in the world of golf, and in 1997 Woods makes history as the youngest person ever to win the Masters title. In November 2003, Tiger Woods engaged Elin Nordegren, a Swedish model and daughter of former minister of migration Barbro Holmberg and radio journalist Thomas Nordegren. They married on October 5, 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort on the Caribbean island of Barbados and live at Isleworth, a community in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando, Florida. Tiger Woods owns homes in Jackson, Wyoming, California, and Sweden. On the June 18, 2007, Elin Nordegren gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, in Orlando. On September 2, 2008, Tiger Woods announced on his website that he and his wife were expecting their second child. Elin Nordegren had given birth to their second child, a boy named Charlie Axel on February 8, 2009.
On December 11, 2009, Tiger Woods announced his break from professional golf. The golf star is going to spend more time with his family and focus on his marriage. “I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person”.
